What is Bala Like?
Bala is a small town in mid Wales with a
population of about two thousand. It is
beside the largest natural lake in Wales
and surrounded by unspoilt countryside in
every direction. Most visitors come here
for activities such as walking, cycling,
kayaking and sailing. There are two small
supermarkets, a few pubs and restaurants,
and a few other shops. We also have a small
cinema, a narrow gauge railway a sports
centre and a country life centre.
Take a short drive from Bala and you will find mountains, castles and beaches.
